The EUROCOM 400 is a CPU module that meets the COM Express standard, which combines previously unachieved computing power with extremely low power consumption. The LV 2.0 GHz dual-core Xeon processor from Intel with multi-CPU capabilities, and the E7520 high-performance chipset, originally designed for server applications, are the basis of this performance. Tests executed by ELTEC have shown that the EUROCOM 400 exceeds comparable single-CPU designs, and that it also outperforms dual-core applications relative to real-time computing power by almost double (suitable software is the prerequisite); and this performance is achieved at only 31 W power consumption. Another feature of the module is an integrated graphics controller (SM 712). A corresponding carrier with USB port and PCI slots is also available from ELTEC for evaluation, development support, and series production.
